How to Make Easy lemon Rice


Lemon rice, a food item admired by all who like spicy and tangy dishes. It is one of the traditional dish of South India. Generally cooked in the festivals and special occasions.






Main Ingredient
  
Cooked rice             :           500 gms
Lemon                     :           3 no.s

Other Ingrdients

Mustard seeds          :           1 ½ tbsp
Turmeric                  :           1tbsp
Salt                           :           as per the taste
Hing / Asafoetida     :          1 tsp
Chena dal                 :           1tbsp
Biri dal                     :           1 tbsp
Dry red chillies        :           6
Green chillies           :           10 (slit lengthwise)
Curry leaves             :           15 to 20 leaves

Method: Smoothly roast and powder a half tbsp of mustard seeds keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add grated ginger, hing a nice smell gives up then add green chillies, 1 tbsp of mustard seeds,  2 kinds of  dal, dry red chillies, curry leaves,  turmeric and at last add salt stir fry till the color changes into a light pink. Turn off the stove now add cooked rice, pour lemon juice mix well then sprinkle powdered mustard seeds. Serve with raita.
