Bitter Gourd Powder / Kakarakaya Podi

In this session I am presenting you, Bitter gourd powder it is a useful cuisine for diabatic patients,  because it is made with bittergourd seeds ans bitter gourd piesces not only bittergourd I  used some other spices  to add a special taste. It would be exceptional with plain rice,idli and dosa etc.


Main Ingrdients
Bitter Gourd seeds        1/2 cup
Bitter Gourd Pieces       1 cup(Dried)

Other Ingredients

       
Toor dal                 1/2 cup
Moong dal             1/2 cup
Chena dal               1/2 cup
Cumin seeds          1 tbsp
Dry red chillies     10 no.s (deceeded)
Curry leaves          10 to 12
Hing                      1/2 tsp
Coriandr leaves     1/4 bunch (optional)
Salt                       As per the taste
Oil                        1 tsp
Black pepper          1 tsp
Ghee                    a little bit

Method

Dry bitter gourd seeds, bitter gourd pieces, curry leaes, red chillies in the hot sun for 3 to 4 hours. Heat a pan add a little bit of oil add cumin seeds, toor dal roast for few seconds in low flame and  then add moong dal roast for 4 to 5 mts stir constantly. Keep aside and let it cool. After cooling grind all the ingredients adding with hing and salt to a rough consitency. Serve with above said items by adding a little  bit of ghee.
